Duties & Taxes

Export Guide International Duties & Taxes

When ordering from United Drinks for delivery outside of the United Kingdom, your shipment will be subject to various import charges. These are mandatory fees imposed by your local government and are a standard part of international trade for alcohol and premium spirits.

Understanding Import Charges

Import fees are typically comprised of three main components. These are calculated once the parcel reaches your country's border:

  • Customs Duty: A tax levied on goods based on their value and classification.
  • Import VAT: Local sales tax applied to the total value of the goods and shipping.
  • Courier Admin Fees: Charges by the shipping company for processing customs paperwork on your behalf.

Recipient Responsibility

All international orders are shipped **Delivered At Place (DAP)**. This means United Drinks is responsible for the transit of the goods, but the recipient is legally responsible for paying all duties and taxes. We cannot predict these costs, and they must be paid to the courier before the parcel is released for final delivery.

Refusal of Delivery

If you choose to refuse a shipment due to import fees, the parcel will be returned to us. Please note that the original shipping costs and any return fees incurred will be deducted from your final refund.

Compliance

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the imported alcohol complies with local laws. United Drinks cannot provide specific tax advice for individual countries.
